From the 9th until the 13th of May 2018 the second International Chamber Music Festival Ede (ICMF Ede) will take place. Edesche Concertzaal invited the internationally praised pianist Anna Fedorova once again. She has frequently performed in Ede and has been the artist in residence of Edesche Concertzaal before. As artistic director she will be the key figure of ICMF Ede.
Together with various international soloists Anna will perform in several concerts and combinations. Several of these artists are, in different countries all over Europe, artistic director of their own festival. For example cellist Benedict Kloeckner of International Musikfestival Koblenz (Germany) and violinist Eldbjørg Hemsing of Hemsing Festival in Aurdal (Norway).
The International Chamber Music Festival Ede (ICMF Ede) makes people fall in love with classical music. Chamber music hall Edesche Concertzaal - which has the mission to make classical music a part of your daily life - is the main host of the festival.
ICMF Ede provides classical music and high quality cultural events for everyone in the city of Ede and the FoodValley-region, with worldfamous pianist Anna Fedorova as artistic director. More than twenty internationally renowned musicians will perform the most beautiful music!
ICMF Ede offers classical concerts, masterclasses and combined cultural performances on a high level. The main goal is to make it possible for everyone to experience the best classical music, performed by the best musicians out there.
Cultural partners collaborate in ICMF Ede with their own identity and know-how. This increases the versatility, agility and quality of the festival.
ICMF Ede is a boost to the development of the city of Ede and to the cultural aspect of the FoodValley-region.
Welcome to Ede!
Forces of Nature is a marvelous theme which completely comes into its own in the municipality of Ede, because situated within the borders of Ede is the largest forested area of the Netherlands. We are proud of ‘our’ Hoge Veluwe National Park. Around this park there is even much more heath and woodland in Ede.
The overwhelming nature is very important to our residents, companies and visitors, whether it is to live and work against this beautiful backdrop, or simply to enjoy it. Our ties to the Veluwe area are strong. Recently a movie titled Wild even premiered in Ede, featuring the abundant wildlife throughout the seasons - and indeed all other forces of nature that shape and shaped the Veluwe.
Ede is at the heart of the Food Valley, internationally the leading region when it comes to innovative, knowledge-driven food production. This growing number of companies, governments, universities and research institutes attracts ever more people to our region, with the Ede-Wageningen axis as its focal point.
And there’s more on offer in Ede. A growing number of people notes our varied and inspiring cultural life. This ranges from Street Art festivals to the second largest collection of Van Gogh paintings in the world, at the Kröller-Müller Museum with its renowned sculpture garden.
The concert stages of Edesche Concertzaal, Akoesticum, Cultura theatre, Pathé CineMec Ede and Junushoff theatre also radiate cultural energy. Together they help to illuminate our inner lives and enrich our society. It is therefore no coincidence that the residents of Ede are the happiest people in the Netherlands.
